Watermarks...

I recently had it pointed out that someone had swiped one of my photos and had posted it on another site without my permission... this kind of bugged me and i wondered how many other times it has happened. I've decided to start posting photos with a watermark, i've just used my name over the top of the image with a slightly decreased opacity - i've never made a watermark before so if people could comment to let me know if they think it works or not i'd really appreciate it. Any suggestions of improving it would be appreciated also ^_^

um, im still learning myself so i don't know what i can suggest. Probably something i find really important is to research many different artists, not just photographers, for inspiration - look at as many photos, paintings, buildings, sculptures as you can... and while learning from and being inspired by these other amazing artists let it help you find the part of your art that will be uniquely yours.
